How Graceing Agefully came to be!

And more about Jennifer K. Sproul

Founder, Graceing Agefully™

Jennifer Sproul is a realtor in the Washington DC metro area. She is 68 years old. Prior to starting a new career in real estate at age 50, she was in corporate sales and sales management.

At 61 she had an “epiphany” that she might live to 120 (her parents had lived to 94 and 99). It shifted her perspective to think at 60 she was only halfway! Since then she has approached life as if she has as much time ahead as she has already lived. This started the wheels turning and Graceing Agefully™ was born.

In January 2022 she had her first written work published, a chapter in a compilation book, “The Ultimate Guide to Self Healing, Volume 5” by lead author Laura Di Franco. Her chapter is called “Graceing Agefully™” Feed the Good Wolf in the Second Half”. You can receive a complimentary copy of the chapter by signing into the landing page to join.

Jennifer believes the second half of life is a time to grow and appreciate not a time of loss and depreciation of capacity. It’s a time to build something that will impact the world. If we think it will be a time of loss and diminution of capacity, it will be. Mindset is everything.

Graceing Agefully - Jennifer Sproul

Graceing Agefully™ is a platform. It is a base from which she is going to try things, learn things, apply things, sometimes fail at things, but always share what she learns and finds. Jennifer is exploring aging after 60. She says the explorers who ventured off to the New World were told the earth is flat. They took a chance on discovery and found the conventional wisdom was wrong.

I think that is the case for aging after 60. We have been conditioned to believe that old is something we don’t want to be. I want to start with redefining the words we use, like old. When I ask people what the word old means to them words like worn out, useless, outdated, ready to be discarded is the answer. If that’s what comes to mind when we are old, who would want that?

I hope Graceing Agefully™ will inspire anyone who is alive to see getting older and getting old as something to look forward to. I hope people will see glimmers of hope for their future. I hope people will share what they’re doing that has moved the needle on their attitude about it. I hope people will share stories of others they know or have seen that have done extraordinary things with their ordinary lives as they move through their second halves.
